Mistplay Review (2021): Is it legit?

There are a ton of different things that you can do to make extra money online. You can take surveys, try reselling, or you could even get a work from home job.

But you’ve probably heard of most of those things, right?

Have you ever heard of making money just by playing games?

According to Mistplay, you can truly make money by just playing games on your phone.

If you’re interested in Mistplay, I’ve created this full review. I’ll explain what exactly Mistplay is, how you can earn money with Mistplay, and I’ll answer “Is Mistplay legit or a scam?”.

Is Mistplay and How Does It Work?

Mistplay is a mobile phone app that has been around since 2017 that allows its users to earn money by playing mobile games.

The Mistplay homepage also mentioned that Mistplay has given away over $12,489,128+ in rewards so far.

It is currently the #1 loyalty program for mobile gamers – awesome!

How Does Mistplay Work?

There are a ton of mobile games out there and it’s hard for newer (and sometimes older!) games to find a player base and get traction, so developers will sometimes partner with Mistplay to get help.

Mistplay helps expose games to players by offering rewards to people who are willing to download and test out games.

Is Mistplay Free to Use?

The Mistplay app is completely free to download, and you won’t be charges any fees when using it.

What Games Are Available on Mistplay?

Not ever mobile game is able to earn rewards on Mistplay, but they do seem to have a good selection.

You can find puzzle games, stimulation games, MOBAs, and more on Mistplay.

FYI the games you are able to earn rewards with may differ depending on your location.

Can I Use Mistplay on Any Phone?

The Mistplay app is only available on the Google Play Store which means you must have an Android device to use Mistplay (sorry iPhones!).

How Can You Start Using Mistplay?

If you’re ready to just jump straight into trying out Mistplay, you can download the app from the Google Play Store through your phone.

But you should probably check out the requirements first:

Who Can Use the Mistplay App?

If you’re interested in trying out the Mistplay app for yourself, you need to make sure that you’re actually eligible to use it.

One of the main requirements is that you are over the age of 13 (since the Mistplay app is rated “T” in the Google Play Store).

Another requirement is that you must live in one of the “approved” counties – here’s a list:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • Singapore
  • United Kingdom
  • Germany
  • France
  • Denmark
  • Norway
  • Sweden
  • Finland
  • Australia
  • New Zealand

And no you can’t use a VPN to get around these requirements. If you do then you risk getting your account blocked (you can see Mistplay’s stance on VPNs here).

Another requirement (that may seem obvious) is that you must be using an Android device for Mistplay because Mistplay is not available on any iOS devices.

If you know that you’re eligible to use Mistplay you can continue with downloading it and setting it up.

Mistplay Settings

During the setup of Mistplay you may be prompted to change a few settings:

  1. You may need to disable power-saving mode
  2. You may need to allow Mistplay to show on top of other applications

If you don’t change these two settings then you may have trouble earning and redeeming points!

Making Money With Mistplay

Now we’re on to the good stuff: making money through Mistplay.

Here’s the basics of it, you will get points from doing different things, like installing and playing a game for a certain amount of time. Then you can redeem the points for giftcards and cash (after you reach the redemption minimum).

On top of playing a game and reaching a certain checkpoint, you will also have to give your opinion on the game.

The Meaning of Units, PXPS, and GXPS (Mistplay Points 101)

For the games that you try through Mistplay you will earn points / units based on different things you do in the game.

Depending on the game you may be required to earn points / units in different ways (so make sure you understand what is expected of you BEFORE trying a game).

You can earn units, GXP, and PXP on Mistplay – don’t worry if that sounds like a lot, I’ll explain each one.

What are Mistplay units?

Units are a special currency earned in the Mistplay app that you can exchange for prizes.

Units are earned by actually playing gmaes (not just keeping games open in the background), so anytime you’re doing something that could earn you GXP and PXP, you’re also earning Units!

How much are Mistplay Units worth?

Mistplay Units are worth anywhere from $0.00125 to $0.00333 (it just depends on what giftcard you redeem your units for).

What is Mistplay GXP?

GXP is basically game experience points. So usually these are earned by just playing games for a certain period of time.

What is Mistplay PXP?

PXP is player experience points. These are earned by ranking up through Mistplay (playing more games!).

PXP is not game-specific and it indicates your level on your entire Mistplay account.

How Much Money Can You Earn With Mistplay?

The amount of money that you can earn really depends on what games you’re playing and how long you play the games for.

But I’ll be honest, Mistplay will NOT make you rich!

Logan from Money Done Right made about 500 points ($0.50) from an hour of playing on Mistplay (video here).

And Vince from Vinsane got to redeem a $5 Visa gift card after 15 hours of play (video here).

How Do You Redeem Points and Get Paid?

Once you have accumluated enough units you can redeem those units for rewards.

You will be directed to Tango (a Mistplay partner) to redeem your units / points.

After selecting the gift card that you want, make sure that the email address is correct because that’s where you will be receiving your gift card!

After placing your gift card order, your gift card will arrive in your inbox within 48 hours.

What Can You Get With Mistplay Points?

The smallest reward you can get on Mistplay is currently a $.50 Amazon giftcard for 400 points.

The largest reward you can get is a $25 gift card for 7,500 points.

You can also get gift cards / cash from the following retailers:

  • Amazon
  • eBay
  • GameStop
  • Google Play
  • iTunes
  • Nintendo
  • PlayStation
  • Starbucks
  • Visa
  • Xbox

What Else Can You Do to Earn Money Through Mistplay?

There are a few other ways that you can make money through Mistplay (besides just straight up playing games!):

Referring Friends

You can also earn money from the Mistplay referral program. If you refer someone to Mistplay you will get 50 points, and if they reach level 4 in their Mistplay account, you will get a bonus of 100 points.

You can also earn bonuses by referring more people.

Streaks

If you consistently use Mistplay, you can start a “streak” and earn bonus points. If you use the app at least 7 days in a row (even for just 5 minutes), you can earn 14 bonus units.

Contests

Sometimes Mistplay will run contests with a grand prize of over 10,000 units!

The qualifications for each contest can sometimes differ, but you will usually have to reach a certain level in the game.

Freebies

You may ocassionally come across a secret code called a “Mistcode”, these codes are given out as special promotions from Mistplay and will give you additional units.

You can usually find these secret codes on the Mistplay social media accounts or through their email newsletter.

You can read more about Mistcodes here.

How Can I Contact Customer Support at Mistplay?

Final Thoughts: Is Mistplay legit? Should You Use It?

Mistplay is completely legit and is a great way to earn extra money for playing mobile games.

You won’t make a ton of money by using Mistplay, but if you plan on playing some mobile games anyway, why not try to earn units in the process?
