How to Become a Content Creator

It’s pretty simple:

  1. Create an account on social media (dealer’s choice)
  2. Create content

Congrats! You’re a content creator.

But that’s probably not what you meant when you came to this page. You want to know how does one become a Content Creator that makes money.

Maybe you have a job you’d like to leave or you don’t have a job and have no intention of getting one.

So then is being a content creator for you?

Let’s find out.

You’re Not a Content Creator

It’s important to understand that you’re never just a Content Creator.

People like to label things, but it misses the nuance of what you really are.

The second you start to create content to make money, you’ve become an entrepreneur.

It might seem like the label doesn’t matter, but it makes a huge difference. If you think of yourself just as a content creator then guess what?

Mentally, you’ll believe your only role is to create content and I’m sure you’ve guessed by now, it’s a lot more than that.

An entrepreneur is one that understands the simple formula of business.

Audience x Offer = $$$$$$

All businesses follow this formula. There are no exceptions.

Being a content creator, the audience might be obvious, but what is the offer?

This is where things get fun.

Your Offer Depends on Your Audience

The general public knows content creators as people that make money through ads or brand deals.

In that case, the offer is your audience. Your telling brands that you have an audience that they’d want to reach.

And there is good money in that if you build up a large audience.

But that’s not what I talk about here at Odd Noodle. Not because I don’t like it, but because it’s very much dependent on your ability to build a large audience.

And not all niches or people are meant for that.

So then how does a Content Creator survive as a Content Creator?

Teaching.

We Are All Teachers

You probably didn’t see yourself as a teacher did you? Don’t worry, I don’t think anyone that does this sees themselves as one either.

But the creators that are making 6 & 7-figures a year do exactly that.

They teach.

They help people learn how to go from where they’re at to where they want to go.

For example, I’ve helped a med student setup a coaching program where she helps people day trade stocks.

Her audience goes from not knowing a thing to being successful day traders.

Or another one of my students helps women over 40 get a bikini body.

Or another one helps people write books using AI.

So why is this the best path for becoming a Creator?

It’s simple.

You can start making money on Day 1 and there is no ceiling to how much you can make.

And this is where things get interesting.

How Creators Make Money Through Offers

I think we should get the first big question out of the way.

Why would anyone buy from you?

The answer isn’t as crazy as you think. People buy something when they have a problem that they want to get rid of.

Or to say this another way people buy improvement. They buy something when they feel it will bring about an improvement in their lives.

I’ve helped a woman scale her business to over $20,000 a month and guess what she does?

Teaches people how to create freezer meals.

That’s it.

But she doesn’t make the money because she says, “I help you learn how to make freezer meals.”

She makes money because she says, “I help you save time and money while getting back a large part of your life.”

People buy from those who offer them an improvement.

If you’re here then I’m offering the improvement of more money and freedom (time). And that’s how you do really well as a creator.

So then what’s the point of the content creation?

Good question.

For that we can turn to a framework that has made me millions.

The NAT Dough Framework

The NAT Dough Framework helps me keep in mind the steps I need to make money with my businesses.

What is it?

  1. (N) Get them to notice you
  2. (A) Get them to pay attention to you
  3. (T) Get them to trust you
  4. (Dough) Convert that trust into money

The reason you create content is to walk your audience through these steps.

Somehow you’re here. That means I did something to get you to notice me. By getting to this point of the guide that means I was able to get you to pay attention to me.

The trust part isn’t fixed. You might trust me already or it could take you 6+ months.

As long as I keep producing content that will help you then we will get there.

And then the money part comes along if you buy one of my courses.

You create content to build an audience because without an audience, you have no business.

You do remember the formula, right?

Audience x Offer = $$$$$

But this is also the part where people get confused since they think Audience is the people that follow them.

That’s not really the case.

Who Is Your Audience?

A lot of people get discouraged from becoming content creators because they think they need a large audience to make money. Sure it makes sense that the person with 250,000 followers on Twitter is making money but it’s going to take you forever to get there.

I once read a story of an Instagrammer that had 2.3M followers.

She launched a clothing line and sold 32 shirts.

Total.

That’s not great.

On the other hand this happened to me when I only had 5,000 subscribers on my mailing list for one of my brands.

Yes, that’s over $100k in one week.

And it just goes to show that your Audience is never your followers.

Your audience is the people that will buy from you.

Simple as that.

And the thing is some of them will be your followers, but the way people go about their creator business is that they have NO clue who will buy from them so they do the spray and pray approach.

Create content that is accessible to most people and eventually, someone will buy from you.

I don’t want to say there is anything wrong with that. It’s obviously a proven model but it does come with some constraints.

You begin to think that you can’t make money until you reach a certain size audience. You also don’t always work on a business built for your happiness.

The truth is that you get to decide how quickly you make your first $1,000 online.

It comes down to understanding the person you want to help and then making sure that your message reaches them.

The sooner you can do that, the sooner you can make money.

Here's How You Build a 6-Figure Business With the 3 Engine Framework

In today's world, it's not enough to simply know how to create a digital product.

You need to know the whole system to make your business flourish.

This is why you build a Full Stack Engine. Not only because you need a system that you can maximize, but also a system that allows you to walk away when you need.

Because while the money is great, freedom is better.

And true freedom arrives when you have all 3 business engines running on their own.
