The Podcast

I’m 40 as I write this post.

I tell you this to offer you perspective.

It wasn’t until about a year ago that I learned the secret of the rich.

They don’t save money.

They collect assets.

I won’t go into the details about that stuff but you know the deal with real estate and all of that jazz.

Instead, I want to talk about how this applies to your business.

Earlier this year we made a conscious decision to go big with some things and one of those things was with the content that we put out for free.

We didn’t think about the blog posts or YouTube videos to do, instead we wanted to figure out what Big Value Assets we could get out there.

Because they would become investments for us.

So we released two major ones:

  1. The Blog Simple Guide
  2. The Pocket Business Handbook

Both contain a ridiculous amount of value and more importantly they help people understand how we view building a business.

Instead of having to do education in other ways, we can point people to these resources and they’ll get everything they need to understand business building.

Because these are free some people tend to freak out and wonder how can you possibly make money, but the reality is that there is always money to be made from people that want to save time or have access to you.

These resources might’ve prevented some people from buying from us because they believed they had everything that they needed, but we would feel pretty bad making people buy this stuff and still needing even more help.

So they get it for free and it acts as an asset that makes us money.

That’s the key.

These are assets that make us money because they funnel people into our mailing list and then to our offers.

When you stop looking at content as just content and more like an asset, you begin to see how you can make it work for you.

The more valuable (to your Hero) assets you can put out into the world, the more work they’ll do for you and the less work you have to do upfront.

So what asset are you going to create today?
